ZIK PRIZE FOR GOOD GOVERNANCE AWARD; EDO PDP HAILS GOVERNOR OBASEKI
- says the Alaghodaro yearly summits have laid the foundation for a modern Edo State
The Edo State Chapter of The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has described the Zik Prize for Good Governance award bestowed on Governor Godwin Obaseki recently as well deserved. The party said that with the numerous strategic projects and programs the Governor has executed in the last 7 years in the state, it was no surprise that the organizers spotted him out for the award. The PDP also commended the Governor for sustaining the Alaghodaro yearly summit for the past seven years.
In a statement issued in the party’s state Secretariat along Airport Road, Benin, the Edo PDP state chairman, Rt. Hon. Dr. Tony Aziegbemi, said that the party was excited by the award given to the Governor. He noted that “The Edo State PDP received with excitement the Zik Prize for Good Governance award bestowed on our leader, His Excellency, Governor Godwin Obaseki, the Governor of Edo State. The award is no doubt well deserved considering the people-oriented projects and programs executed in the last seven years by the Governor Obaseki led administration in the State.
” This singular recognition by the organizers of this prestigious award, is a further testimony of the positive impacts Governor Godwin Obaseki has had on the development of Edo State since he took charge of governance in the State.
” The Edo state PDP wishes to use this medium to appreciate the Public Policy Research and Analysis Center (PPRAC), the organizers, for this honour given to a deserving hard working Governor and the people of Edo State.
” In the same vein, the Edo State PDP congratulates His Excellency, Governor Godwin Obaseki, and the board of the Alaghodaro Summit, for successfully hosting the 7th edition of the summit. The Alaghodaro summit has laid the foundation for a modern Edo State in economic and infrastructural development which successive governments will leverage and build on. The people of Edo State can now face the future with renewed hope.” the statement concluded.
