Is Edo PDP Unfair To This Immediate Former Honourable Minister of Works?

    • The Need for Edo State Central Senatorial Leader’s Assembly

A Must Read And Exposing Piece

Dear Edo politicians, repent now as the Kingdom of God is near…stop being only the liker of people’s works and not caring for same people you use. It will lead you to everlasting blackmails and reduce you to nothing in the last.

Okay na, let me reframe the above subject question in the opposite way. Is Arch. Mike Onolememen, the former Honourable Minister of Works unfair to Edo PDP? In my opinion, the answer cannot said to be yes except as it was purely titled. The reason for this very subject in informed by what seems to be the back line role he is presently playing in politics. As a daring investigative person, I decided to find out, why should a man who was known as the Bulldozer few years ago decided to be at the back seat when indeed, he should actually a mentor, model and a leader in the politics of Edo Central Senatorial District irrespective of the political divide…

Permit me to hint that, the other part of this subject piece that we shall be looking at even though, not deeply in terms of its dynamics on this, is the very need for a people leaders of the Edo State Central Senatorial District across political divide.

In view of the above, you will agree with me that, there is no doubt that, everyone has his or her own weakness but, when the good aspects surpass the bad side in no small measure, such person is a good man. I can challenge anyone on this philosophy. This best explains the above subject matter as it relates to Dr. Mike Onolememen, the immediate former Minister of Works and one time, State Minister of Defense, Federal Republic of Nigeria.

What You Don’t Know About Arch Mike O.O.

Chief Arch. Dr. Michael Oziegbe Onolememen, the current Adolor of Uromi is a Member, Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA); Member, Association of Consulting Architects in Nigeria (ACAN); Member, Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) and a Registered Architect by the Architects Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON) is a chartered Architect and professional construction manager of over 30 years cognate experience in the private and public sector in Nigeria.

This September 4, 1965 Uromi born Edo son Nigerian to the family of Late Mr. & Mrs. Augustine Aizehiwele Onolememen attended St. Anthony (now Opoje) Primary School, Uromi for his Primary School Leaving Certificate, both Annunciation Catholic College, (ACC) Irrua and Kings College, Lagos in view to obtain the West African Examination Council (WAEC) Certificate. In 1985, he obtained the Bachelor of Science Degree in Architecture from the defunct Bendel State University now Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Masters in Architecture, University of Nigeria, Nsuka-1988, and Master of Science in Construction Management, University of Lagos-1990 and a PhD in Public Policy and Administration, Waiden University, USA in 2014.

Having well grounded in his professional field, Arch. Mike Onolememen considered the need to set up a world class Architectural Design outfit called ‘Gomic Consortium International Limited (a firm of architects, engineers and projects managers with offices in Lagos, Port Harcourt and Abuja) where the renowned Architect Onolememen sat as the Chairman Chief Executive and a chartered architect and development consultant.

With his strong technical background, Dr. Mike Onolememen was appointed a member of the Interim Management Committee of the Petroleum Trust Fund by the President, Commander in chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, where he doubled as Executive Director, Projects Management. He served as a Minister of State in the Ministry of Defense and also the past Minister of Works, of the federal Republic of Nigeria that earned him the Great Bulldozer as a nickname. It is a no deniable fact that, since 1999 till date, Dr. Mike is the best Federal Minister of Works so far produced.

As a member of Edo State PDP and having became the Federal Minister under the same party, Arch Mike Onolememen whose regular monthly salary was less than a Million Naira serviced the Edo State PDP with a constant pay of Five Million Naira (N5,000,000.00) monthly, funds that was being paid to Chief Dan Orbih, the former PDP State Chairman to maintain the party down to the ward level. In Mike’s belief that, there should be the distribution of wealth, he insisted that, there was no need for Sen. Odion Magnus Ugbesia to be returned to the Senate for a third term, a political suggestion that brought in Sen. Clifford Ordia. Mike did not stopped at the above, when he saw that, Engr. Clifford Ordia could not afford the financial muscles to fund his election having faced with bank loan issues, the former Minister busted the today Senator’s Bank Account with about three hundred Million Naira (N300,000,000.000) to commence his movement process to the National Assembly. The question is, how far is Sen. Clifford Ordia still regular in Arch Mike O. O’s house today? I leave the answer to that question to two of them to battle with. It will suffix Edo people to know that, Arch. Oziegbe was very instrumental in the funding of Edo PDP in 2015 and 2016 through Late Chief Tony Anenih as not less than 75% of the funding was linked to Chief Mike Onolememen. Even though he chooses to remain behind by pretending to provide some obvious direct supports honour his leader’s ego as well as to reduce so much attention, there are traces of funds moved through the Late Political Icon of Edo State to support Edo PDP. Just to keep our doubters silent in case, most of the above mentioned transactions are there in the bank papers. So, waste no time in bragging with court threats as usual.

Now, let’s look at one interesting part. Mike was said to be developing political structure across the 198 wards in Edo State PDP. He was the most favoured Edo State PDP 2016 aspirant until he was skimmed out of event by some cabal to favour another in the name of Edo South and Central political master stroke cum majority and minority snag while he was completing his Doctorate Degree in the United States. A quick one, has this minority and majority imbroglio favoured Edo PDP? Of course, Edo PDP lost to Comrade Adams Oshiomhole in 2011 and to Mr. Godwin Obaseki in 2016. That, Edo Central is once again, now being blackmailed to the likes of Nyesom Wike of Rivers State by a certain cabal with this same unwinnable strategy calls for the very question as to, does the Edo PDP truly want to win election or in another class or round of electioneering racketeering? Again, I leave that question to the members of Edo PDP.

Let me make it clear authoritatively that, Chief Mike Onolememen is not likely to seek for any political position especially in the Edo 2020, I am also too sure, he is not out from politics in totality. However, it is important to say, there are other numerous contributions the former Honourable Minister of Works have made to Edo State PDP as a body and to individuals but will not be mentioned here except pushed to the wall. You may not be lying to say, those mentioned above are therefore strategic to the fact that, you will be answering a question as to, who really should be the Edo State PDP Central Senatorial District Leader? Was Late Chief Anenih holding a position as he led Edo State PDP till his exit? Let’s ruminate about the above.

Attempting to analyse who should be the Edo State Central Senatorial District Leader under PDP and considering all the political dynamics, I found out that, because Architect Mike Onolememen stood for the truth, as to support against a third term bid of Sen. Odion Ugbesia did therefore bringing on board, Sen. Clifford Ordia is the main cause of the dilemma of a position he truly deserved to be holding till date. Coupled with the above, the immediate former State PDP Chairman did find it unpalatable when Dr. Mike opened up that, he has be servicing the State party through Chief Dan Orbih when there were complaints that, he was not doing the needful to Edo PDP. This also informed the reason why the above cabals led a team to meet the Late Chief political icon to change the original plans that brought in our friend whose mandate was stolen in the Edo 2016. No wonder, the lies, deceits and personal interests are the reason why Edo PDP is not winning election and rather than getting more grounds, is losing it to the today ruling APC.

It is therefore clear that, Chief Mike Onolememen’s decision to stay at the back seat in the political activities of Edo PDP is informed by lots of betrayal, negative payback to his frankness and disappointments seen in the past political years. Now, the center theme of this part of this piece, are those who benefited directly or indirectly from Dr. Mike’s benevolence fair to him? Is his challenges informed by lack of united front from his State Senatorial District? I mean, is the issue of greed and desire of personal and selfish interests in the life of the major players championed by a certain cabal members and some up line backing the cause of sidelining of a fellow very rich enough, as big as the elephant in the animal kingdom, an asset wonderfully desired by other political parties in the person of Chief Arch Dr. Mike Oziegbe Onolememen? You may hate him because, he may not be too good a politician who shares regular envelopes for regular political visitors, you cannot take the fact away that, Arch Mike is a sagacious and eloquent speaker who is realistic to life, a conservative lifestyle, understands human management, an as a core professional believes in revolution in societal development.

In the nearest future, we will once again be vindicated for speaking the naked truth while daring those guys that have held us hostage for years. We must know that, the truth last but not forever. All be told and advised that, whatever you do, even in the secret, it shall one day be exposed either before or after your death. Those who claim they are smart to the extent of eating alone, repent now before it is too late. People are still pretending to give you regard, if you do not change now, in the nearest future, I can assure you, God is not a man that, He will lie. To all politicians across the State, from Benin to Okpella, from Ebele to Igarra and from Okada to Abudu, REPENT NOW AS THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS CLOSE. Start caring for your followers from the benefits you get from the game. Stop eating alone. How could you be seating on top of billions of Naira yet, followers suffers pursuing your dream while you benefits without having them along? How can you be seating on billions of Naira yet, placing calls on those struggling to have their daily bread to milk them of the little in their hands to meet your daily needs? And stop being only the liker of people’s works and not caring for same people you use. It will lead you to lasting blackmail and reduce you to nothing in the last.

It is in the light of the above, I strongly believe that, there is the need for Esan People’s Assembly, a uniquely organized system that should have elders across political divide, uniting all our people’s traditional leaders, scholars, professionals, politicians, Youth and Students on which, the interests of our people shall be decided and championed in the right and most understanding way.

Watch Out For Esan People’s Assembly Matters Arising!!!

    I am yours
    Comrade Mike O. Enahoro

THE SINS OF DAN ORBIH: Part One

    • This is a series to highlight the atrocities of a wicked and greedy man

To political watchers outside Edo state, the opposition, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) looks set to take over power from the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in September 2020. The crisis in the APC is in every way, irreconcilable. The PDP only needs to conduct a free and fair primary to choose a governorship candidate and that will be all.

  • Joseph gets open heart surgery in Nigeria – ANPA & Bridge of Life

Joseph gets open heart surgery in Nigeria – ANPA & Bridge of Life

Joseph and his mother came everyday to the FREE 2019 MEDICAL, DENTAL, OPHTHALMOLOGY AND SURGICAL MISSION FOR EVERYONE by the Association of Nigerian Physicians in America (ANPA) which held from April 5 to April 10, 2019. They had no idea what the mission was about or how it could help them. This was when Katherine Chandler met Joseph and decided to take up his case.

Katie recently met a 15-year-old boy named Joseph during a medical mission in Abuja, Nigeria with Bridge of Life in partnership with ANPA.  Joseph and his mother, Rosemary, were first in line every morning to receive medical care.  Unfortunately, our team was not able to treat Joseph.  He suffers from a congenital heart condition called tetralogy of Fallot that requires corrective surgery.  This condition causes oxygen-poor blood to flow out of his heart to the rest of his body, leaving him fatigued and out of breath. Yet, Joseph and Rosemary still returned to the clinic every single day and waited from morning until evening with the hope that he might receive treatment.

Katie thought of Joseph often since returning from Nigeria in mid-April.  He’s 15 going on 16, but wouldn’t pass for over 10 years old.  He was quiet, but determined.  He was strong, but scared.  He was smart, but recently had to quit school because he is too weak to attend.  He graciously accepted food from our team, but sensibly tucked it away to later share with his four siblings.  His eyes looked wise and his face mature, but he seemed young and innocent as he climbed on to his mother’s back each evening for her to carry him home.

Surgery is the only effective treatment for Joseph.  In fact, less than a quarter of children with tetralogy of Fallot that are not treated surgically live past the age of 10.   Joseph has fought his way to get this far, but his symptoms are quickly worsening and we need to move quickly for Joseph to survive.  ONE surgery would allow him to live a relatively normal life.

The sad reality of Joseph’s situation is that the single obstacle that prevents him from receiving lifesaving surgery is money.  We have identified a reputable surgeon in Nigeria that can perform the operation, but we can’t move forward without the necessary funds.  $13,000 will cover travel, preoperative investigations, surgery, hospital stay, medications and follow-up.

Please open your hearts to Joseph, and let’s save his heart!  Thank you in advance for any contribution you can offer! Money was raised for Joseph through Go Fund me.

May 19, 2019 a day after surgery, Joseph is recovering nicely.

Our God, the Great Physician has done it again as He answered our collective Prayers for Master Ikechukwu Joseph’s successful surgery yesterday at the Tristate and Associate Cardiovascular hospital, Shagamu, Ogun State. The surgery was done by our own Dr. Michael Sanusi and his team. Dr. Sanusi is a Cardio thoracic Surgeon and happened to be a foundation member of ANPA. To God be the Glory. As you can see in the pictures above is Joseph, propped up with  Dr. Sanusi and his team of Doctors and Nurses.

Joseph reunited with his family on May 30, 2019

Joseph, his mother and father were united last week in the hospital in Abuja. Katie had the opportunity to speak with them a couple days ago. Total bliss! Joseph said he is doing great and feels very well. His mom and dad asked her to thank all the beautiful people that gave Joseph another chance at life. They said we all have a home in Nigeria!

With the funds raised, we were able to complete Joseph’s operation, cover the travel costs between Lagos and Abuja, cover the hospital stay for Joseph’s recovery in Abuja and provide a small amount of money to the family. Rosemary, Joseph’s mom, said she is going to use these funds to buy some products to start a small kiosk.

Joseph will have ongoing medical expenses. We would also like to contribute to his education. Please continue to spread the word and perhaps we can help give Joseph an even brighter future!

Joseph has a stronger heart because of all of you. I hope this journey with Joseph and his family has impacted all of your hearts as well! I know mine is overflowing when I think about this young man and his family… and about all of you. The love and kindness from this group knows no boundaries or borders. Just think, if we all continue to love like this, how AMAZING this world could be!
    Keep it going!!!!

Joseph discharged and going home today, Friday, June 14, 2019

Good job ANPA and Bridge of life for saving this remarkable boy’s life. Well done.

  • OUR TRIP FOR HEART SURGERY

    OUR TRIP FOR HEART SURGERY

Omosede Global Foundation took a total of five children for free heart surgery at the National Hospital in Abuja. Four children left with us from Edo State on Sunday, May 26, 2019, Clinton, Ifesinachi, Benedict, Destiny. Emmanuel who lives in Oyo State left a day ahead of us for Abuja on May 25, 2019.

Planning started in February 2019, broadcasts and screening of children started in March 2019, the final list for the children was sent to the National Hospital on April 30, 2019 and preparations for travel started in the first week of May 2019.

Preparing to leave Benin City, Edo State
    The children and their parents/guardian

The team left Benin City on Big Joe transport company and was blessed with a great driver who took into consideration the health of our children. We arrived Abuja and were taken to the Supreme Hotel Ltd. The owner gave us a 50% discount for our hotel rooms and also made a donation of #50,000 (Fifty Thousand Naira) to the foundation to support the mission. Each family had a room to themselves.

On the morning of Monday, May 27, 2019 the families were fed breakfast and transported to the National Hospital for screening. All the children were registered with the hospital and screened. These were the findings.

At the National Hospital on Monday, May 27, 2019 for screening
    Destiny, 14 months old female

Grandma Destiny was her guardian for the trip because mum is nursing a new born. Destiny is healing naturally, the hole in her heart is closing as she grows and there is no need for surgery. Destiny returned home with grandma on Tuesday, May 28, 2019.

    Clinton, 9 year old male
    Ifesinachi, 11 year old female

Clinton and Ifesinachi were referred for a CT Angiography (coronary) on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 for further and more detailed investigation of the heart.

Clinton’s father was present throughout his care and Ifesinachi’s mother was present throughout her care.

The Children had to have a kidney analysis done to determine if they were able to tolerate the process. Both came back good and were taken for their CT Angiography.

While waiting for our turn at the laboratory. Benedict’s dad followed us for support.
Ifesinachi waiting to undergo her CT Angiography

The results were picked up on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 showed that both Clinton and Ifesinachi were not operable and not eligible for heart surgery.

Clinton’s dad had done everything to get help for his son sooner. He had sold everything he had including his work tools to raise the money for his son’s surgery. Still not enough he tried to get help by writing letters to elected officials and government for assistance, but none responded. The CT Angiography shows that over time the heart had become enlarged with other complications which makes it impossible to have surgery now.

Having further discussions with Ifesinachi’s mother, Omosede Global Foundation found that since it was discovered that Ifesinachi had heart problems at 4 months, her parents never took her back to the hospital for treatment. Ifesinachi had never been on any medication to date and she was now eleven years old. Her parents said they resulted to prayers as advised until their pastor took his son for surgery for a growth in his neck. Only then did they start looking for help for their child. She was sent our way by the hospital.

Benedict, 3 years old, male was admitted on Thursday, May 30, 2019 for surgery.

On Thursday, May 30, 2019 Benedict was admitted into the National Hospital, Abuja. Both parents were present with the child. All blood tests, x-rays and preparation where done. On Friday, May 31, 2019, number one for surgery the surgeon came down to see Benedict to do one last check before surgery. Initial check showed that he had some scattered sounds prone to children with heart problems. She requested the X-ray and found Benedict had an infection, which needed to be treated prior to surgery. Benedict is rescheduled for surgery and on the priority list for September 2019 and will be among the first 3 children operated on. Benedict was placed on Antibiotics and discharged at about 8 pm. He returned to the hotel.

Emmanuel, 1 year old male, was admitted on Thursday, May 30, 2019 for surgery

Emmanuel was also admitted into the National Hospital on Thursday, May 30, 2019. Both parents were present. On Friday, May 31, 2019, number two on the list, the surgeon moved to prepare Emmanuel for surgery. Further review of his blood test should he had an additional problem which required special kitting by the team of surgeons. This was erroneously omitted from his referral. Emmanuel is rescheduled for heart surgery and on the priority list for September 2019. Emmanuel was discharged in the evening at about 8 pm and returned to the hotel.

No surgeries were done at the National hospital from Friday to Sunday when the surgeons returned back home.

The Omosede Global Foundation had dinner with the team to review our experience. We stayed back on Saturday to rest, it had been a tedious week for all of us and returned back to Benin with the families on Sunday, June 2, 2019.

Omosede Global Foundation paid for all expenses with money donated to the Foundation. Transportation, accommodation, feeding and all hospital expenses not covered by the surgery itself. The parents were also given stipends.

We will have 3 new children with heart problems to join us on our trip back to Abuja for heart surgery in September 2019. Screening will begin the first week of July 2019.

The Omosede Global Foundation team included Omololu Ojehomon and Mr. Kingsley Ohens who assisted her throughout the process and prior.

    Mr. Kingsley Ohens with Emmanuel
Dr. Patrick Uwubanmwen and Omololu Ojehomon

Our appreciation goes out to our family, friends and many others we do not know, all who wish to remain anonymous, who believed in us and donated to make this possible. May God continue to bless and replenish you infinitely.

We are totally grateful to The Mercy Igbe-Arase (née Ifidon) Foundation who helped us house our donations and disbursed on a timely manner.

To the Supreme Hotel Ltd. Who took care of us and showed us hospitality.

To 70s Grill Caterers who provided us with breakfast for our trip to Abuja.

To Big Joe transports that made sure all our requirements to transport our children with heart problems were met and for providing us with a great driver who made sure we got to our destination safely.

To Bros Monday our taxi driver in Abuja who stuck with us and made himself available at all times and on more than one occasion in the middle of the night when I had to return back to the hospital. He wanted to see it all through to the end.

To God is Good Motors upon seeing our flyer we left the previous day when Omosede Global Foundation went to book seats for the team, gave us the rest of the bus for free. The manager said, “For Enhancing lives, May God bless you, it’s the least we can do.”

To all those who supported us with words of kindness and encouragement, we thank you.

Especially to the surgeons who come to Nigeria twice a year to donate their time and skills for free and the Spem Quia Filii Foundation for making it happen.

May God never forget any of you in your time of need.

  • ANPA at 25

    ANPA at 25

It was a bright, sunny, Summer afternoon 25 years ago when my wife and I and our youngest child (now happily married herself and a top Healthcare Executive in her own right) arrived in Southern California in the scenic, beautiful, family-friendly Disneyland for the inaugural Convention and the formal inception of the Association of Nigerian Physicians and Dentists in the Americas (aka ANPA).  I remember seeing many familiar faces I had known from my days in Nigeria and some I met here on my sojourn to the United States of America. I remember the subsequent annual Conventions in glamorous locations/hotels and Convention-friendly cities all across the United States of America and one beautiful Convention in Abuja in 2009 under the leadership of Dr. Julius Kpaduwa.

I remember the audacious move (similar to the audacity and great hope with which ANPA was founded) by Dr. Michael Etomi to give ANPA visibility in Nigeria by setting up an Advocacy Committee that will take our case and our vision to the healthcare stakeholders in Nigeria by meeting directly with the Health Minister and officials of the Federal Ministry of Health, officials of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, officials of the National Universities Commission (NUC), officials of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN), Senators and Representatives in the Healthcare Committees of the Nigerian National Assembly while also giving ANPA widespread publicity in Nigeria through his involvement of the owners of the efficient Channels TV.  I remember the audacious move to expand ANPA’s presence and advocacy efforts in Nigeria under the leadership of Dr. Nkem Chukwumerijie by starting an ANPA Week comprising Medical Mission (working in partnership with our Nigerian-based colleagues in Nigerian institutions for better clinical follow-up and continuity of care, the first one being in Jos at Faith Alive Hospital in 2016), Advocacy meetings with all stakeholders in the healthcare sector and Continuing Professional Development (aka Continuing Medical Education as we know it in the United States of America).  ANPA was even issued with a Certificate by the MDCN as an accredited organization for CME/CPD activities in Nigeria. This tradition was diligently carved out and expanded by Dr. Johnson Adeyanju (Immediate Past President) and Dr. Charmaine Emelife’s (Current President)  regimes when the concept was successfully deployed at the First Consultants Hospital In Obalende, Lagos in 2017 for the Medical Mission, General Hospital, Enugu-Ukwu in 2018 and General Hospital, Kubwa, in 2019  with a strong advocacy component where we pushed for the involvement of diaspora physicians in the healthcare delivery system of Nigeria the result of which germinated in the development of the Diaspora Professionals Healthcare Initiative (DPHI) which will be started in the latter part of 2019 working cooperatively with other diaspora organizations like MANSAG (United Kingdom), CANPAD (Canada), NMA-Germany (Germany), NDF-SA (South Africa), NAPPSA (Nigerian pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists in USA), NANNNA (Nigerian nurses in USA), NNCA-UK (Nigerian nurses in the United Kingdom), NMA (Nigerian Medical Association).

Now that ANPA is 25 years old, I believe we are on the cusp of building on the foundation and beautiful legacies left by the previous leadership teams to take ANPA to the next level of accomplishing its vision of a “healthier Nigeria in a healthier world”. ANPA needs to be visibly present in Nigeria by not only bringing its expertise as exemplified by the care delivered in 15-year old Joseph’s case (the tetralogy of Fallot patient) who was accurately diagnosed by Dr. Osita Onyekwere (cardiologist), promptly referred to Dr. Michael Olutoyin Sanusi (cardiothoracic surgeon and founding member of ANPA who has relocated to Nigeria), financially assisted by the efforts of Katie Chandler of Bridge of Life (ANPA partner) through Go-Fund-Me, operated on successfully by Dr. Sanusi in Nigeria who is also graciously following him up.

This is the time to come together to build that next bridge of making ANPA relevant and effective in Nigeria’s healthcare delivery system working diligently, professionally and undistracted. ANPA can achieve this next milestone despite and in spite of Nigeria’s multiple political, social, ethnic and economic problems (similar to the achievement of Indians in Southeast Asia despite India’s intractable national problems) if we wrap our minds tightly around our vision and put the system(s) in place to accomplish our mission – SO HELP US GOD!

  • It takes a Heart

    It takes a Heart

In October 2017, a great Edo son from the Central District, Kingsley Ohens, put out a broadcast to raise funds for a 16 year old child, Bright Usiholo to get heart surgery in India. He needed heart surgery urgently to save his life, Bright’s father was a bike man (Okada) and could not afford it. Omololu Ojehomon got the broadcast and called Mr. Ohens if indeed this was true, he confirmed it with photos of the admitted child in the Irrua specialist hospital as well as reports with the permission of his father. She then re-broadcast it using several media, when another great Edo son from North district, who wishes to remain anonymous, contacted her of free heart surgery coming up in Abuja in September 2017 by the Spem Quia Filii Foundation.

Immediately, contact was made with Dr. Patrick Uwubanmwen initiator and founder of the foundation, who requested for Bright’s documents to determine if he qualified for surgery. At short notice Bright was added to the list and was prioritized as number 2 for surgery and National Hospital Abuja where the heart surgeries was to take place was notified.

On September 21, 2017, a team of three which included Omololu Ojehomon, Mr, Kingsley Ohens and Mr. Gbenga Ajiboye left Benin for Irrua Specialist Hospital to pick up Bright Usiholo and his father, Mr. Tony Usiholo and continued to Abuja. Our anonymous Edo son housed us for free at a hotel in Abuja for the first four days. With others like Benson Okoloise, Asiwaju Ehi Gideon Ijie, Prince Godsent and more calling out to the public to raise funds, made our travel easy. Mr. Felix Akhabue also provided accommodation for an extended period of time for free at Supreme Hotels Ltd, In Abuja.

Bright Usiholo and Mr. Kingsley Ohens at the Irrua Specialist hospital when picking him up.

At the National Hospital, Abuja, Bright was screened and the cardiology team ordered a CT angiography for him, which was done. On the September 27, 2017, the results were collected and submitted. After they reviewed the result of the scan these were their submission. Bright’s operation was planned for based on the ECO report sent from Irrua Specialist Hospital to them in UK. Bright cannot be operated on because the result from the CT angiography shows complications for which the team was unprepared for. It was clearly more than what the ECO report showed which we submitted prior to their arrival. The team is unwilling to risk Bright’s life by performing the operation without the tools to sustain him. Bright stands a 50% survival rate without the machine to aid pressure during the operation. The medications which he currently takes will sustain him in the meantime. The surgeons will take Bright’s report to their UK hospital to properly study and analyze it and get set for him early next year. If the surgery is to be done in the UK they will pay part of the medical and flight fare, while we will pay part.

Bright Usiholo during his CT Angiography

In June 2018, Omololu Ojehomon got a phone call from Dr. Patrick Uwubanmwen that a hospital in the UK had agreed at an almost 85% discount to do the heart surgery on Bright, it will take 24 hours only to get all Bright’s flight documents, but they were looking for a licensed family to house Bright post surgery for an extended period of time. In July 2018, the National Hospital, Abuja sent a text to Mr. Tony Usiholo to bring his son for a follow-up, he failed to do so. In August 2018 Bright Usiholo died after a crisis at the Irrua Specialist Hospital, in Edo State. May his soul Rest In Peace Amen.

Bright Usiholo and Omololu Ojehomon at the National hospital, Abuja

More determined now to get help for children in Edo State who suffered from heart disease and alarmed at the high percentage of children born with it. Omololu Ojehomon continued to work with Dr. Patrick Uwubanmwen until she was able to get slots for the children in Edo State.

It is one of the priorities of Omosede Global Foundation to help as many children get heart surgery in the state and country.

We are grateful to everyone who donated in one way or the other to save Bright’s life and May God bless all those who walked this journey with us.

Mr. Kingsley Ohens and Omololu Ojehomon at the National hospital, Abuja
  • ON THE ROAD TO GOOD HEALTH

ON THE ROAD TO GOOD HEALTH

The number of Nigerians with wounds ranging from diabetic sores, legs ulcers, injuries of various kinds, burns, etc. without the right kind of treatment or affordable healthcare is alarming. Many patients have resulted to self care and in many cases the wound gets worse and suffer with for many years. As a result, for superstitious reasons, these individuals are tagged witches or wizards or assumed to have committed some wickedness for which they are being punished, but that is not true. The lack of good medical care, finances, coupled with emotional instability keep these wounds festering.  Health is holistic, it involves the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual wellbeing of any individual, lacking in any one of these can result in the gradual breakdown of an individual,

Four years ago, in November 2015, the relationship between Charity Wound Care, Inc. USA and Omosede Global Foundation began with one patient in Benin.

In December 2014, on her usual walks in the morning around her community, Omololu Ojehomon stopped at a shop on Iwegie Street to purchase some items, when she noticed the shopkeeper sitting towards the back. Uncomfortable for some reason she raised her long skirt up and Omololu observed a leg ulcer that had gone past her ankle. It had eaten up most of the skin in that area and could see part of her bone. Concerned she asked the shopkeeper if she could see it. She asked the shopkeeper if she was diabetic, the answer was no, that she had been bitten by a spider, and it’s poison kept eating away at her flesh. The shopkeeper had gone to several hospitals and herbalists, but for three years none were able to help her. Omololu then asked the shopkeeper if it was okay for her to interfere, she agreed and Omololu requested for photographs of her leg. She sent the photos to friends in the medical profession in the USA for help, but none got back to her. Almost one year later, in November 2015 while browsing Facebook, Omololu saw photos of wound care being given at a hospital in Lagos by Mrs. Joyce Aghedo, Wound Care Specialist and childhood friend, and contacted her asking if she will be willing to come to Benin to see the shopkeeper, she agreed. At Omololu’s home, the shopkeeper was treated, trained on how to care for the wound, counseled, oriented on what foods to eat that will facilitate healing and given free medication and supplies. Expenses were paid for by Omololu. Mrs. Joyce Aghedo said she will return to Nigeria in March 2019 and promised to come to Benin for a follow-up, which she did. When the shopkeeper’s leg was unwrapped, the leg had healed and granulated 94% with only a small portion red in color showing active healing.Since that time, Mrs. Joyce Aghedo comes to Edo State at least once a year on a Wound Care Mission helping hundreds on the road to good health.

In March 2019, Mrs. Aghedo contacted Omololu that she wanted to collaborate with her on a One day FREE Wound Care Mission in any hospital of her choice in May 2019. Excited about the news Omololu immediately contacted Dr Atoe kenneth, Consultant Chemical Pathologist and Metabolic Physician for assistance on a location that will best meet the needs of the public. In the final analysis the Police Cottage Hospital was the best option. Both proceeded to the Hospital to meet with CSP Dr. Margaret N. Oyakhire to discuss the matter. The Nigeria Police Medical Services agreed and immediately, with full cooperation began collaboration with Omosede Global Foundation to make it happen. Working closely with SP Dr Oluwatosin Adefila on the details of the Mission, everything was set for Wednesday, May 22, 2019 the day the Mission was scheduled.

Nothing could have prepared us for our first patient, Jassa, age 32. He has lived with his injury since 2007 from a vehicle accident with little or no help. When his family exhausted their funds they turned to the church for help. Thanks to St. Vincent de Paul Church who referred him to us, after they received our flyer. We got to him on time, the leg can be saved.

We have also secured for him and other patients who came for treatment follow-up care at the Police Cottage Hospital in Benin City until he heals for #1,000.00 (One Thousand Naira) per month. Dr Imuwahen Nehikhare, is the physician handling the follow-up care of the patients from the wound care mission.

He was also given medication for free and Omosede Global paid for his antibiotics which was purchased from the pharmacy.

His aged father and himself were also counseled by both Charity Wound Care, Inc. USA  on the medical aspects of his road to recovery and Omosede Global Foundation on the emotional aspects.

He will also be provided with a physical therapist when his leg heals 25% to help relieve the contraction and for mobility. Omosede Global Foundation will monitor and make provision for this service.

He needs your prayers to heal.

The nurses of the Nigeria Police Medical Services were trained on best practices in providing Wound Care, Supplies and medications were donated to the Police Cottage Hospital by Charity Wound Care, Inc. USA for the follow-up care for the patients. Wounds treated by the wound care specialist varied from vehicle accidents, leg ulcers, abscess, dog bite, and other injuries.

  • Olubukola Abubakar Saraki Senate President 2015-2019! The Making of A Successor!

Olubukola Abubakar Saraki Senate President 2015-2019! The Making of A Successor!

Nature makes fine gold go through the fire to purify it and make it into finer gold. Any sincere observer of the travails of ‘Oloye’ as he is fondly called will see nothing but an excessive attempt to destroy a man whose destiny is firmly in the hand of his Creator. How does one explain this new set of activities directed at making uncomfortable, embarrassing and harassing the senate president and his family.

If the history of the case that went all the way to the Supreme Court in the infamous ICPC trials does not represent a completion of the matter, what do honest Nigerians make of this hasty double jeopardy efforts of the EFCC? Surely, like the previous attempt, this one too will end in disgrace and would only propel Bukola Saraki to higher levels of love from his followers and the conscientious people around.

What are Bukola’s sins, save for emerging as Senate President of the 8th Senate in spite of the meddlesomeness of the cabal of APC into what ordinarily is a selection process of peers relying on their rules! Can the handlers of this regime soberly say that he had done anything other than that which is allowed in a multi party democracy, where qualified persons lobby and scheme for positions!

There is a falling to which the souls of men must strive to rid themselves, for while the scheming is ongoing, all might scheme, but once one has been favoured, it is ridiculous, incongruous to hold a grudge and elevate same to enmity, an enmity of monstrous bile, induced hatred, which all rightly guided persons must seek to purge themselves of, otherwise eternal damnation awaits the individual who abuses authority!

This persecution becomes more offensive given that the senate under Senate President Olubukola Abubakar Saraki has performed better than all others before it in terms of its duties by way of bills, oversight and legislative responsibilities on the side of the country and its citizens! Notwithstanding the attitude of the Buhari-led Executive and the posturing of some of its ministers and agency heads, in true manner of one who understands the higher ideals of leadership, Bukola has ensured that the ship of state is not grounded to a halt, at the same time ensuring that the independence of the Legislature is not trampled upon.

The apparatchik of state went into the 2019 elections in Kwara with brazing audacity in a bid to get the people of Kwara to dump their benefactor in such a way that might affect the noble history of that town if care is not taken to ensure outsiders do not dictate the pace of a revered Nigerian state.

Again, but for the higher ideals of leadership, which made Oloye take that in his stride, and reason that no Kwaran must die or be maimed because of reactionary agents and enemies of the people, perhaps the story might have really been centred around avoidable chaos and killings.

Bukola reasoned like a true leader: maybe Otoge indeed; maybe the people do not want all he does for them, how he promotes their sons and daughters, how he does continuous medical supports to the downtrodden. Perhaps his generosity is no more desired, and while he leads them in love, they may prefer those who care not about them and who would destroy the family bond that all Kwarans have enjoyed from a legacy nurtured and passed on from Olusola Abubakar Saraki senior, which Olubukola Abubakar Saraki junior has, through thick and thin, kept faith with.

Time will tell if the people of Kwara made the right decision on that day, time will tell boya Otoge abi Kotoge!

As for the future, behold, I see an effectual door opened before Olubukola Abubakar Saraki, one that will prepare him for succession, for the baton will be passed to the long awaited divine leaders. The belly of time is pregnant, and in full season, the entire world will learn of Olubukola Abubakar Saraki, Senate President of the 8th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; the bridge, the urbane, the digital leader, the one that will hold the numerous tribes and tongues of Nigeria together.

One only needs to look at the generation holding sway now to know that the clock is ticking and power must change hands now.

Dear Olubukola Abubakar Saraki, stay strong. This too shall pass, and when the siege is over, you can be sure that the great Rewarder is more than able to perfect all things concerning you and the country Nigeria. Kwarans, if you like, sit idly, while enemies of Kwara plan to destroy your pride.  Rest assured that a larger space, made up of thinking persons see the bright light in your midst. Like it is with prophets of the past eras, he will be honored and supported from far and near!

A Successful Outing – ANPA (Photos)

When Flyers first went out on  free 2019 MEDICAL, DENTAL, OPHTHALMOLOGY AND SURGICAL MISSION FOR EVERYONE by the Association of Nigerian Physicians in America (ANPA) it seemed too good to be true. With the many negatives going on in Nigeria recently, caring for the people becomes utmost on the burner.

ANPA was that hope this April, in time for the Easter. The Medical Mission was from April 5 to 10, 2019 fro 9:00 am to 5:00 pm daily. May God bless their effort, strengthen and replenish them.

  • Edo State: Who approved this school?

Edo State: Who approved this school?

This is a “Private school” in Akoko-Edo. Who approved it? What’s the standard for approval?

The name of the school is Solid Foundation Nursery/Primary School, Ibillo, Akoko-Edo, Edo State.

Operates in a most dehumanizing structure not fit for a Poultry.

The language in use is Pidgin.

Apart from the hazards posed to the children, we may just have a training ground for future criminals and possible terrorists.

It’s pathetic that this type of place is approved by government without inspections.

Education is the key to development and must be taken very seriously.
